Abstract: | Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS) is a common, immune mediated, chronic newlineinflammatory rheumatic disorder in the group of Seronegative newlineSpondyloarthritis (SpA) which affect sacroiliac joints, spine and peripheral newlinejoints. Genetic preponderance of several MHC (HLA-B27) and Non-MHC newlinegenes as well as environmental factors can play role in etiopathogenesis of AS. newlinePresent study was performed to see the role of immunological, genetic and newlineenvironmental factors including infections in AS in eastern part of Uttar newlinePradesh, India. This study was performed on 232 patients of Ankylosing newlineSpondylitis and 100 normal healthy controls. newlineAims and Objectives newlineand#61623; To study the demographic and clinical features of patients with newlineAnkylosing Spondylitis. newlineand#61623; To see the prevalence of HLA-B antigens including HLA-B27 in newlinepatients with AS and to study their correlation with age and sex of the newlinepatients. newlineand#61623; To study the prevalence of HLA-B27 subtypes in eastern part of Uttar newlinePradesh, India. newlineand#61623; To study single nucleotide polymorphism in ERAP1 gene in newlineAnkylosing Spondylitis. newlineand#61623; Estimation of cytokines IL-17A and IL-23 in patients serum to see the newlinetype of immune response in pathogenesis of Ankylosing Spondylitis. newlineand#61623; To see the association of Chlamydia trachomatis and Saccharomyces newlinecerevisiae with Ankylosing Spondylitis. newline |
