TREATMENT OF NATURE IN SRI AUROBINDO S SAVITRI AND HIS OTHER POEMS newline newlineABSTRACT newlineThe Thesis titled Treatment of Nature in Sri Aurobindo s Savitri and his other poems : A critical Study is an attempt to find out Sri Aurobindo s integral view of Nature. It includes the spiritual and psychological view of Nature. The main objective is to prove that Nature which seems to be mechanical and working without any rule has a certain intelligent design. It works towards achieving a definite goal. It is not only Unitarian or centenarian in Nature but it has an integral view. newline newlineSri Aurobindo is a major poet in Indian English poetry. He has to his credit five longer poems titled Love and Death Urvasi Chitrangada Bajipravo Ahana and illion , more than 260 short poems one epic titled Savitri . It is a poem of integral yoga , where the poet describes the victory of supramental force over the mental force embodied by the lower Nature. newline newlineMy thesis aims to emphasize Nature as a creative force. It has been carrying out a task of evolution in a planned and intelligent manner. Nature is both subjective and objective and functions both at the cosmic and individual level. Subjectively it is a dynamic force executing the hidden plan of the supramental force objectively . It is identified with the forms and objects which it manifests. Nature that appears to be unconscious and mechanical has a secret design as it links with the consciousness of the spirit. newline newline
