Abstract: Study of wave phenomenon under the purview of various theories of generalized rmoelasticity in a continuum with additional parameters like initial stress, magnetic field, ffusion, temperature, microtemperatures, rotation, gravity, functionally graded composites, external loads etc. has fundamental importance in the field of science and technology. Nowadays, researchers have found a wide range of applications of these studies in the fields of seismology, earthquake engineering, aeronautics, soil dynamics, nuclear reactors, pharmaceutical technology, biomedical science, geophysics etc. The present research work is an attempt to analyze some interesting dynamical problems of wave propagation in thermoelastic materials under the purview of various generalized theories of thermoelasticity. Chapter wise summary of the thesis is given below:Chapter 1 is introductory which contains a brief history of the subject and topic under study in addition to a brief survey of the work already done in this field on various theories of thermoelasticity. Two-dimensional deformation in a nonlocal, homogeneous, isotropic, rotating thermoelastic medium with temperature dendent properties under the purview of Green-Naghdi II model of generalized asticity have been analysed in chapter 2. Chapter 3 deal with the analysis of two-dimensional disturbances in a nonlocal functionally graded, isotropic, thermoelastic medium whose surface is acted upon by a mechanical load. In Chapter 4, the effect of rotation and magnetic field on a functionally graded thermoelastic half-space have been investigated in the context of Green-Naghdi-III. The governing equations have been tackled using normal mode analysis. newlineChapter 5 is concerned with the propagation of plane waves in an initially stressed magneto-thermoelastic half-space with microtemperatures and voids. In Chapter 6 the reflection phenomenon of plane waves in a homogeneous, orthotropic, initially stressed magneto-thermoelastic rotating medium with diffusion has been analysed. Ch
