Abstract: As the gateway of the body, the mouth senses and responds to the newlineexternal world and at the same time reflects what is happening deep inside newlinethe body. Oral health and general health should not be interpreted as newlineseparate entities as they are closely related and influence each other. An newlineoral manifestation of a systemic disease is an oral condition that directly or newlineindirectly results from a disease process in another part of the body. Oral newlineinvolvement may precede or follow the appearance of findings at other newlinelocations Eg: Diabetes mellitus, lupus erythematosus. At the same time poor newlineoral hygiene also results in systemic complications. The oral cavity is involved newlinein many physiological functions like mastication, digestion, speech and newlinesometimes even in respiration. It is also unique for the presence of teeth, newlinetongue and mucosa. The mouth is frequently involved in conditions that affect newlinethe skin. The biomolecules present in Tagetes erecta show that the plant will newlinehave many medicinal properties. Hence, there was a need to study the effect newlineof leaf and flower extracts of T. erecta on oxidative stress and antioxidant newlinelevels on oral ulcer induced rat model to fill the existing lacuna in the newlineliterature. The study also compared the healing potential of the extract against newlinethe ulcer model versus the standard drug, triamcinolone.Triamcinalone. Overall, the study resulted in highly newlinesignificant improvement in all the parameters than other conventional newlinetreatment in healing the ulcer and effectiveness was similar to that of standard newlinedrug. newline
