Abstract: | In health care supply chain management, particularly in the area oforgan transplantation, organ procurement and the transplantation networkplay an important role. The organ procurement and distribution organization (OPDO) should coordinate so that organs are prepared and transported to therecipients when donors become available. The scarcity of organ supply leadsto life-challenging issues for the organ recipient. In this research, hierarchicaldecision making framework has been developed for organ transplantation, forlocation of OPDOs, allocation of organs, matching of recipient with donorand prediction of graft survival post-transplant. Initially, the importance of thelocation of OPOs to coordinate with the transplant centres in India isconsidered, and a solution is provided by facilitating in the identification oflocations where organs can be procured and in the second level allocation ofthe organs in sharing with equity and abiding to the current policy followed in newlineTamilnadu, matching of the organ to the recipient with optimal efficiencybefore transplantation. Finally the survival probability of the graft after thetransplantation is predicted using prediction techniques. Also a DecisionSupport System for Organ Transplantation (DSSOT) is developed, which hasan integrated and hierarchical framework from location to prediction of graftsurvival, for coordination and networking of kidney transplantation in India. newline newline |
