Abstract: ABSTRACT newline newline newline newlineThe Z-source inverter is a step up/down inverter that has a broad scope of achievable voltage. The conventional VSI and CSI cannot offer such achievable voltage. Z-source inverter defeats the issues in the conventional VSI and CSI. Quasi-Z-source inverters (qZSIs) are improved topology of the Z-Source inverter topology that preserves Z-source-inverter main benefits like Z network and shoot- through mode also qZSI overcomes the disadvantages such as discontinuous current from source and a large capacitor. Hence in this research, qZSI is proposed for analysis. In this research, both current fed quasi-Z-source inverter and voltage fed quasi Z source inverter are analysed for induction motor drive application. Performance of drive is analysed under constant speed, variable speed, constant load and variable load. Performance of current fed qZSI based induction motor powered induction motor is analysed with conventional PI and PID controller. To improve a performance of the system, an artificial intelligent fuzzy logic controller is proposed as a speed controller. The effectiveness of proposed controller is analysed in the aspect of speed settling time, overshoot, steady state error and speed drop during the change in load. The voltage fed qZSI based induction motor powered induction motor is initially analysed using a conventional PID newline newline newline newlinecontroller. To improve the performance of the system simple and improved form PID controller stated as Fractional order PID controller is applied as a speed controller. To offer better performance artificial neural network controller-based speed control of induction motor is also analysed. To enhance the performance of a system, PSO is proposed to tune gains of PID controllers in the speed controller. Performance of PSO based proposed system is analysed under constant speed, variable speed, constant load and variable load. Enhanced performance of PSO based proposed system is given with the comparative
