dc.description.abstractWireless Sensor Networks (WSN), is an intensive area of research which is often used for monitoring, sensing and tracking various environmental conditions. It is used in a wide range of applications such as target tracking, wildlife monitoring and remote environmental monitoring. WSN consists of a group of sensor nodes that are powered with fixed low powered batteries. These batteries cannot be replaced frequently as most of the WSN will be deployed in remote areas. Life time of WSN mainly depends on the energy consumed by the sensor nodes. In order to prolong the networks life time, the energy consumption has to be reduced. Thus among the various constraints that exists in WSN such as network life time, bandwidth, deployment, security, heterogeneity etc., the energy conservation is one of the primary constraint that has to be addressed. newline
