Abstract: In modern computing, some application does not need accurate results. These types of applications are characteristically error tolerant. For instance consider web search application. In web search, the client does not know the search results from server are correct or not for which the returned results are associated to the search area. Similarly, the data of applications like digital media processing, games and web browsing may be more resistant to errors. Approximate Computing (AC) is a design approach that attempts to make use of this error tolerance by exchanging accuracy level for performance. Approximate computing allows significant power and energy savings by comforting computation accuracy while achieving an acceptable processing quality. Approximation can be introduced at design levels in approximate computing system. Users are forced to accept some inaccuracies, due to the limitation of human perception capabilities. newline
