Abstract: | Software testing refers to the process of experimenting with the program using input data in order to observe failure. Testing also measures the abilities of reliability, usability, maintainability, reusability, testability, and correctness. Testing is an essential aspect of developing reliable software. But the specifications tend to be neglected, and there are several difficulties to the execution, which include indiscriminate costs, lack of tools that are automated, time constraints, and inadequate planning. Software testing plays a prime role in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), which is aimed at discovering the faults in software to provide software quality. An effective test depends on a set of specific and detailed conditions used in software testing, known as test cases. The choice of test cases is known as the classic technique choosing either one or more of the new subject for its current test cases. The code coverage will be the state of practice made among the various heuristics of test case selection. Recently, there is a diversity of test cases observed to be quite promising. Test Case Selection (TCS) refers to those approaches that aim at selecting test case subsets inside a particular domain based on the criterion of interest. These approaches have been the key to defining, as well as the development of the strategies of testing as they may aim at eliminating the unwanted or redundant test data. newline |
