Abstract: In the present work anti-cancer activity of metal-organic complexes such newlineas Silver (I)-Mercaptobenzothiazole and Gold (III)-Mercaptobenzothiazole were newlinestudied. Linear structure of Silver(I)-Mercaptobenzothiazole and perpendicular newlinestructure of Gold (III)-Mercaptobenzothiazole were confirmed by proton NMR and newlinesupported by optical as well as structural studies. Cyclic Voltammetry provided newlineunderstanding about the release of Silver ion at pH 5 by Silver(I)- newlineMercaptobenzothiazole. The plausible mechanism of apoptotic induction in lung newlinecarcinoma cell line (A549 cells) by Silver (I)-Mercaptobenzothiazole was newlineascertained newline
