Abstract: The Internet of Things (IoT) is the network that consists of sensors, newlineactuators, and processing units for the purpose of sensing, data exchange, and newlinecontrol. These are specialized or tailor made networks that are created for a newlinespecific purpose. The basic entity of this network is often called a node or newlinemote . The networks formed by interconnecting these motes are often referred newlineas personal area network. In order to implement these types of networks into real-world operation, one need to use specialized routing protocols for effective transfer of information. Some of them are IPv6.0 Routing Protocol for Low power and Lossy network (RPL) given by RFC 6550, Constrained Application Protocol newline(CoAP) and IP version 6 over Low-Power Personal Area Networks (6LowPAN). These protocols has to be evaluated for measuring the performance of network. As IoT networks are designed for specific purposes, the Quality of Service(QoS) rendered by such networks has to be measured by taking stakeholders feedback into consideration. This process of incorporating stakeholders view in analysing the performance of the IoT network is referred as Quality of Experience (QoE). This work identifies the essential IoT protocols and their performance is measured by means of Quality of Service based methods. In addition to this a framework for measuring the user experience out of this network is proposed and investigated against domain specific applications. newline newline newline
