The phenomenon of aging is a universal one and the same time, a personal one. Our country is rapidly aging. With advances in medical care, technology, nutrition, education, the proportion of the elderly today in our country is significantly larger that it was in the previous decades. Thus, it is time for us to think about the factors which might contribute towards a healthy, happy, adaptive, successful aging experience. The individuals who have lived productive lives, contributing to the society, their families and to their personal selves want to ensure that their twilight years also follow a similar pattern, indeed such an ambition is also aligned to the one our nation has for all its citizens. Therefore, in this research work, our purpose is to uncover and analyze the role of those factors which contribute towards an adaptive, successful aging in Indian context. Both qualitative and quantitative research tools shall be utilized towards attaining the purpose in order to generate a varied and rich repository of components which contribute to healthy and successful aging. newline newline
