The increase in usage popularity of video-based interactive services and multimedia applications, the current systems hardly meets the requirement of high-speed and wide bandwidth for next generation. The critical issues in the current fiber based wired system provides large bandwidth with limited application and the wireless system offers reliable communication with low data rates in terms of few Gigabits per second (Gbps). This work presents upgradation of the system both by single mode fiber (SMF wired) / Free Space Optics (FSO wireless) for high speed operation about 10 Gbps. The optimum range of the system is evaluated based on both different electrical advance modulation schemes and all optical pre amplifiers. The various advanced electrical modulation schemes are namely Frequency Shift Keying (FSK), Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM), Pulse Amplitude Modulation (PAM), Differential Phase Shift Keying (DPSK) and Continuous Phase Frequency Shift Keying (CPFSK). The various optical amplifiers are namely Erbium-Doped Fiber Amplifier (EDFA), Travelling Wave Semiconductor Optical Amplifier (TW-SOA) and Parametric Optical Amplifier (POA). newline
