Abstract: The Primary objective of the study was to Examining the effects of socio-economic status and social psychological characteristics on the performance and participation in the players of Indian major games. people with higher socio-economic status and social psychological characteristics are more likely than those with lower socio-economic status to participate in sports and games, and more specifically in sport socio-economic status and social psychological characteristics affects overall functioning, including our sports performance. Low socio-economic status and social psychological characteristics and its correlates, such as lower educational achievement, poverty and poor health, ultimately affect our society. newlineTotal 450 Kabaddi and Kho-Kho and Wrestling players was sample size of the study and their age range of 18 to 30 years. The sample from games were selected on the basis of random sampling technique. This study involves a survey on players in a non-experimental, comparative descriptive survey design. The data was collected through respondents in the form of different descriptive tests. The demographic information about, age, sex, daily smoking etc. was obtained before seeking responses. For assessment of Academic Stress, the Student-life Stress Inventory (SSI) (Gadzella, 1991) was used. The inventory reflected students life stress experiences. It consisted of 51 items describing five categories of stressors (Frustrations, Conflicts, Pressures, Changes and Self-imposed) and four categories of reactions to stressors To measure academic self-efficacy, Yuen and his colleaguesand#8223; (2007) Academic Development Self-efficacy scale extracted from the Life Skills Development Inventories.It measures five dimensions of academic development self-efficacy For the present study, Socio-economic status scale by Kapoor and Kocher (1994), were distributed to players, before filling the socio-economic status scale instruction were given by the investigator to the .
