Abstract: newlineNowadays the workplace environment is becoming highly complex and competitive demanding for more advancement from all sectors and at all levels of the organization. Undoubtedly the same expectation is levied from educational sector particularly from higher educational Institutions where more improvements are demanded with respect to teaching pedagogies, infrastructuredevelopment, offering more competing courses and many more. So more responsibilities are placed on account of faculty members to ensure effective and sustainable service delivery. This is possible only if the faculty members perform their roles effectively and also extend it beyond their role. So certain unspecified extra role behaviors termed as Organizational Citizenship Behaviors are expected from them for accomplishment of Institution s goals. But one s tendency to exhibit OCB depends on how they are treated in their Institution which is referred as Organizational Justice. Though organizational Justice is considered as the major antecedent of OCB, certain cognitive variables might influence the effect of OJ on OCB. In earlier context, the faculty members were likely to possess higher level of emotional intelligence but in recent times, the globalized trend has demanded for higher level of Intelligence known as Spiritual Intelligence. Also in order to reach the expectations of young community, the educational Institutions demand for certain qualities from their faculty members such as holding confidence and positive state of mind, making positive contribution at all challenging times without compromising on quality of service delivery, setting clear paths to achieve expected service outcome. All these qualities contribute to one s Psychological Capital. This study was undertaken among the faculty members to explore the effect of cognitive variables like Spiritual Intelligence and Psychological Capital in the effect of OJ on OCB.
