Abstract: newline In Recent Times Composite materials are used in the Civil Engineering owing to their multifunctional characteristics in contrast to the individual materials The introduction and suitability of Steel concrete composite carries many advantages and opportunities in construction industries The construction field is growing day by day in India and around the globe Today Steel concrete composite serves the purpose of strength characteristics lightweight and also increases the life span of the structure Normally the columns crosssection is increased to avoid failure due to overloading or stress and inadequate section but it is not economical Hence the alternative Composite column resists the external loading by mutual interaction between steel and concrete by bond and anchorage Generally there are two types of composite columnEncased columnInfilled column To design an effective composite column the formulation should satisfy many conditions like good aesthetic appearance increased strength characteristics increased life span anticorrosion ability high thermal resistance etc Instead of Fully encased composite column partially encased composite column PECC may have extraordinary characteristics The steel section with concrete infilled between the flanges is the PECC selected in this study Addition of fibers to concrete can upgrade many properties of PECC and can produce multipurpose composite with efficient bonding nd little cost differenceIn this work the incorporation of various fibers like Steel wool fiber and carbon fiber in PECC has been demonstrated which leads to significant improvement in mechanical properties and thermal resistance The studies explored the multifunctional use of fiber impregnated concrete in PECC which unwrap a new material for the construction industries
