Automatic and Efficient Early Diagnosis of Glaucoma Disease in Retinal Fundus Image

Abstract

Glaucoma is an irreparable neurodegenerative retinal disorder, which is a newlinemajor cause for ocular disability around the world. As per World Health newlineOrganization (WHO) statistical report, more than 65 million humans on the earth newlinehave been affected by Glaucoma. As it is asymptomatic, preventive measures have newlineto be taken to save the vision of the people. The Glaucoma can lead to loss of vision, newlineif it is not detected at the earlier stage. This silent retinal disorder is primarily caused newlineby the optic nerve fibre damage due to the increased intraocular pressure (IOP) newlineinside the eye. An irregular size of the Optic Cup (OC) with respect to Optic Disc newline(OD) expresses the characteristic of a glaucomatous fundus.
