dc.description.abstract | A thin film is a coating of material stretching from the fraction of a nanometre to some micrometers in thickness. Thus, a thin film can be visualized as a near-surface region of a material whose possessions are diverse from those of the bulk. In general, any solid or liquid (crystalline or noncrystalline) system possessing at a most two-dimensional order of periodicity may be named a thin film. Thin films can be used to formulate optoelectronic campaigns that can transform solar energy into electrical energy for numerous usages. This can be attained if their arrangement, inter-band conversions, and other optical possessions are exploited to produce sufficient solar radiation to deliver energy. Accomplishments that take place when electrons transportation among energy bands in thin films are of essential position in gathering solar energy just like all fuels originate their basis by exploiting solar energy. Though solar energy is rich, it has not been collected well. Gaining energy by use of solar cells does not need sophisticated and exclusive services. FeZnS2 and FeNiS2 thin films on to the glass substrates with complexing agents like EDTA and Leishman stain solution were deposited by chemical bath deposition (CBD) technique. Structural, optical and morphological properties of the ternary thin films of FeZnS2 and FeNiS2 were analyzed by using X-ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Energy Dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) and UV-Visible spectroscopy (UV-Vis) techniques. Powder X-ray diffraction (p-XRD) pattern of the thin film shows the multi crystalline nature along with six sided solid phases at room temperature. The surface morphology of the films, analyzed by SEM images shows that the grown films yield clear morphology which is influenced by the doped thin films. The AFM images clearly show that the particles in the film have grainsizes around ~ 80 nm to 100 nm with approximately uniform thickness. The influence of doping agents on absorbance | |
