dc.description.abstractIndia is proclaimed to be the world s largest IT superpower in the newlineglobal market. Indian Software sector is technology-oriented knowledge newlineindustry which necessities their employees with well-established tactic newlineknowledge considered as a key to achieve competitive advantage. Changes in newlinethe global demographics, increased frequency of mobility of people, existing newlinevolatile business environment and growing work diversity were perhaps the newlineprime factors causing an adverse impact on the availability of competent newlineworkforce. It is found that 80 percent of Indian employees are open to newlineswitching jobs in the next six months. Thus, recruitment, management and newlineretention of skilled employees has become one of the strategic issues in newlinedeveloping countries like India. Career literature demonstrated commitment newlineand career satisfaction as the predominant factors for turnover intention. newlineHence, it becomes imperative for the organization to investigate the career newlineattitude and behaviour of IT employees towards affective commitment and newlinecareer satisfaction for understanding the underpinning mechanism for newlineeffective retention. The overall purpose of this study is to empirically build and test a newlineconceptual model for IT employees that defines the impact of organizational newlineand individual factors on career behaviour and its relation to employee newlineattitude and behaviour. newline newline
