Abstract: Abstract newlinePurpose newlineIndia has gone many socio-economic changes after post liberalisation. Increase in per capita newlineincome along with life span of average person, changing the social structure from joint newlinefamily to nuclear family, lack in the robust social security has asked for the change in the newlinemanagement of investment pattern of individuals. Many of the recent studies have suggested newlinethat Indians are good savers but they save only in traditional investment avenues along with newlineminimum risk. It was also found that awareness and preference for investment is very low newlineamong new age Indians. The study has tried to assess the salaried class investors perceptions newlinewith respect to preferred avenues and factors considered for investment, investors attitude newlinetowards risk, investment objective, investors satisfaction level post investment, examine and newlineanalyze the type of investor based on investment behavior from various districts of Gujarat. newlineResearch Methodology newlineDescriptive research design was conducted throwing light on all points narrated above and newlinemust be prepared by keeping in view the objective(s) of the study and the resources available. newlineSecondary data which was collected from various Journals, books, articles, and websites has newlinelaid foundation for the study. Primary data was collected with quota sampling technique. 600 newlinesalaried employees from six districts of Gujarat: Ahmedabad, Baroda, Rajkot, Surat, Chhota newlineUdepur and Panchmahal were selected, as 100 from each of the district. Anova, Correlation newlineand Regression along with the Descriptive Statistics, Tabulation, Likert statements, Factor newlineAnalysis have been used to analyze the data. newlineFindings newlineThe major findings of the study is that mostly all the investors were having the awareness of newlinethe different investment avenues. Further, 85% to 90 % of investors prefer investment newlineavenues which help to save their taxes. Along with that 90% of the investors exhibit the newlinecharacteristics of rationale investors.
