Abstract: | newline newlineABSTRACT newline newlineCreativity is the process of developing original, novel and yet appropriate responses. It is the school among other educational agencies where creativity can be nurtured by teachers among school going adolescents through teaching-learning process and other curricular activities. The adolescents and adults creative levels need to be compared with the purpose to find out if these two population groups one at school pass out stage and other pursuing elementary teacher training after schooling -- along with socio-economic status and academic achievement variables (one with background and other with personal accomplishment) may have a direct or indirect contribution to creative potential s nurturance. Hence, it was thought worthwhile to undertake the research problem with the research questions: (i) Do senior secondary school students have as good level of creativity as their seniors doing elementary teacher training across student performance and socio-economic status?; and newline(ii) Do socio-economic status and achievement relate well with creativity in combination with and type/ level of students?, with the objectives: To study creativity of elementary teacher training students and senior secondary school students in relation to socio-economic status; To study creativity of elementary teacher training students and senior secondary school students in relation to academic achievement; To study interaction effect of socio-economic status and achievement on creativity of elementary teacher training students and senior secondary school students; To study the relationship of creativity with socio-economic status and academic achievement of elementary teacher training students and senior secondary school students. newlineDescriptive method of research was followed in the conduct of study with the help of three tools namely: Baqer Mehdi s Verbal Test of Creativity, Socio-economic Status Scale, Background Information Sheet, Academic Achievement on a sample of 600 students 300 elementary teacher training an |
