dc.description.abstractInternet of Things (IoT) is based on characteristics of wireless sensor network (WSN) in which nodes are dispersed for segregating data for field of application. In general, sensor nodes of IoT -WSN possess multifarious property. Few other nodes have higher energy and even data aggregation functionality. Developing energy efficient approaches to meet the challenges of IoT is crucial as IoT are wide and highly complex. Moreover, these networks security can be subject to threats by assaulters. It requires the sensor to periodically sense and transfer sensitive data to base station for data transmitting commonly through multi hop path. So it is very essential to design the secure wireless sensor network that detects smart attackers efficiently. Intrusion discovery procedure is used for inspecting, controlling, investigating and delivering the reports. Intrusion detection system (IDS) employed in conventional networks failed to be used openly in WSNs as they require more resources that are not accessible in sensor networks. To resolve these challenges with reduced energy consumption, low encryption and decryption time, better network life time, packet delivery ratio and latency, this research aimed to generate routing protocols for WSN-IoT. The entire work is organised in three phases. In the first phase, Efficient Fault-Tolerant Marchenko Pastur Distribution (EFT-MPD) is proposed to tolerate more fault in the network. In the second phase, Trust-based Intrusion Detection Hierarchical Cluster-based Smart Authenticated Routing Protocol (TIDHCSARP) is proposed to secure the network from intrusion. Here, the intrusions are detected by pre-distribution and key management process. In the third phase, Smart Energy Aware Energy consumption by Predictive Energy Efficient Routing protocol (SEA-EPEER) is proposed especially for energy conservation process.
