dc.description.abstractEducation play pivotal role in the development of any country. It is world-wide recognized that a rapid improvement of education is an essential condition for accelerating economic, social and human development. The overall development can be achieved through proper and well-planned education system catering to the diverse needs of the nation. Women, being a part of a society have an equal share in the reformation of society. The Educational Status of women is a long standing worldwide issue. Therefore all countries of the world are looking for providing access to all levels of education to women. The scenario regarding the status of women education is mixed with healthy and unhealthy impressions. There are many parts of the world, where education of women is poor and needs urgent remediation. Among them education of women is one of the major issues in South Asian scenario. Writing about education in South Asia region means writing about one-fourth of the world s population.
