Design synthesis and characterization of hetero ARYL chalcogenides E Se Te and their potential applications

Abstract

The present work deals with the synthesis and characterization of symmetrical and unsymmetrical chalcogenides of substituted benzimidazole moiety together with their co-ordination chemistry towards cadmium and mercury, with an aim of generating cadmium selenide nanoparticles. Oleic acid has been chosen as a capping agent for CdSe nanocrystals which primarily acts as the stabilizing agent and provides colloidal stability in addition to preventing agglomeration and stopping uncontrolled growth. The colloidal NCs thus formed have been deposited as thin films called quantum films. Drop casting and ultrasonic substrate vibration-assisted drop casting (SVADC) methods have been used to fabricate quantum films of CdSe, for further use as functional materials to fabricate devices. newline
