Abstract: | A set of mobile devices that employs wireless transmission for communication is termed as mobile ad hoc networks MANETs Due to frequent mobility of nodes the topology of MANET will be dynamic The nodes may act as a router or end host The MANET which is an ad hoc network is an infrastructure-less mobile multihop everywhere and dynamic topology network Since it does not necessitate any infrastructure environment the network can be deployed at any location at any time The process of offering better communication services among the users in centralized organization is the main objective of the MANET architecture MANETs are useful in applications such as military and emergency operations teleconference and environmental monitoring etc The key features of MANET include quickly deployable nature self organizing and self-configurable self healing coverage extension scalability and reduced transmission power Due to the features of MANET this can directly delay the QoS Hence the implementation of resource management becomes an important issue in mobile adhoc networks Network load or congestion may cause packet loss Congestion occurs when the aggregated demand for a resource exceeds the available capacity of the resource Inelastic traffic does not easily adapt to changes in delay and throughput Real time multimedia audio streaming video VoIP is an example of inelastic traffic It has capability to provide poor utilization for applications that needs Variable Bit Rate VBR communication It holds the maximum per packet delay requirements newline |
