Abstract: | Shared leadership is understood as a concept which involves completing of tasks together by teams. Under this the team members not only interact frequently but also provide emotional support to each other. The purpose for research was delineated and which were embodied in the objectives of research. Simply put the objectives of research were delineated to be three fold : Firstly comprehensively explore the existence of shared leadership in the IT sector in India. This was done by comprehensively exploring the different dimensions / factors of shared leadership in Indian IT sector s leader- follower s functioning. The idea behind this modus operandi was that more the dimensions or the factors were present, stronger would be the proof of presence of shared leadership in the IT sector . Secondly investigation of the extent of difference in the factors of shared leadership as existing in the different IT sector companies. Thirdly analyse the impact of external factors like age, qualification , income, experience and gender on shared leadership with change in the companies and impact of these factors of shared leadership on team characteristics. This research is conceptually conceived from the Shared Leadership concepts provided by non Indian studies undertaken by foreign researchers as this concept has been scantly researched in India. The findings show that Age group and gender have complete no impact on the factors of Shared Leadership and the Shared Leadership as a whole . Among the demographic factors it is the experience which show complete impact on the factors of Shared Leadership and on the Shared Leadership as a whole. The demographic factors like income and qualification show partial impact on Shared leadership . Income impacts Self leadership factor and also the Task complexity factor . Qualification impacts only the Task Complexity factor. newline newline newline newline newline newline newline newline newline newline newline newline |
