In this study, we tried to establish the comparison of various technology-based treatment systems and monitoring of the plants on continuous basis so far put in operation in and around Delhi and NCR. To do this, sampling of the raw and treated water through various technologies are being carried out in the STPs operated in Delhi, Ghaziabad and Gurgaon areas. The technologies like MBR (Membrane Bio Reactor), SBR (Sequential Batch Reactor) and ASP (Activated Sludge Process). Case studies and operating data from the current operating plants were collected, analyzed and reported for making the plant operation in efficient manner. Management can work out the operational cost to minimize as part of effective implementation, which was aimed for. With all the analyses and review of the data based on the site analysis reports, maintenance of the equipments, outlet quality meeting the requirement of the compliance agencies / meeting the discharge standards. Most of the plants are constructed in main cities, where the land cost is very high, hence, and footprint of the plant to be small and meet the treatment discharge requirements. The treated water should also meet recycle and reuse quality to prevent the ground water and fresh water requirements. The maintenance of the plant should also be less and easy. The capital recovery and effective utilization of byproducts like excess sludge has to be generated revenue from the plant operations. The power generation from the plant is most desirable but quantum of energy required for maintaining the plant during winter month to be taken into account. In addition to that nitrogen phosphorous removal to prevent algae growth in the water bodies plays vital role on selection of the technology. Further, the power consumption plays major role in the quality treatment and getting the per M3 treatment cost. newline
