Abstract: | A Mobile Ad hoc NETwork (MANET) is a constantly selfconfiguring, infrastructure-less network of mobile devices connected wirelessly, which is mostly utilized in disaster emergency, business communication networks, and military. Every node in MANET acts as both router and host. Also, the nodes in MANET are characterized with light weight features, less power and memory. MANET has the dynamic network topology since the nodes can join or leave the network anytime. A MANET has the ability to solve the problems, like disconnection and isolation of nodes from the network. Since, the MANET eradicate the fixed infrastructure cost and minimize the power consumption of nodes, it is highly economic. Although, the MANET has several advantages, it suffers from some drawbacks, such as interference, blockage, path loss, and fading, which cause the behavior of wireless channels vulnerable. Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks (VANET) is the type of MANET in which vehicles are equipped with wireless technology to make a network instinctively while travelling along the road. VANET is a wireless platform established for effective communication between the vehicles. VANET connects a large number of vehicles with the wireless medium and thus, helps in improving the road services. The movement of nodes (Vehicles) makes the network partitioning, which influences the intermediate nodes. In the recent years, VANET has become popular among the users, due to its reliable, low cost, and low maintenance features. The nodes that are present in the VANET always moves with high speed and thus, makes it difficult to find the position of the node and hence, provides protection to the privacy of the node. In VANET, alert messages are sent to vehicles about current distance among vehicles, stop signs, and hazardous situation to inform the drivers about dangerous situation. The accidents are caused by the several reasons, which are minimized by developing a system in which, the vehicles can take precautionary measures, share information, and communicate depends on the information to evade such incidents. newline |
