dc.description.abstractTrajectory tracking controller used in missiles weapon systems, robotics, industrial and commercial applications. Defence missile needs fin with controller to actuate the missiles in corresponding direction. Fin control realized through controller, electro-mechanical with gear, and feedback system. Hence an intelligent fast processing controller required to track desired trajectory of missile. Torque motor used as actuator to operate fin of the missile. Motor delivers better dynamic performance for instant turn on and off which is functional of fins in missile. To track the desired response by fins of missile, a closed control drive is ideal choice in a control actuation system. Target position of fin calculated using incremental encoder as feedback loop system. Actual and target position difference to generate error as processing parameter to controller. Artificial intelligent controller design required to operate actuator. PSO-Fuzzy implemented in process of fin control actuation system to improve performance. Fuzzy is rule based human thinking decision method which generates effective operation. Particle based swarm optimization technique to overcome limitation of fuzzy in fine tuning gain value. Battery sources to deliver power in actuator circuits result in excessive current ripple effects output torque performance. A high gain dc-dc converter based on high frequency switching implemented for actuator. High frequency switching based converter for control actuation system increases voltage gain and reduce ripples. This thesis contributes design of PSO optimized fuzzy-PID controller for fin control actuation. Response of fin control actuation system for step and sinusoidal trajectories analysed. A planetary gear system modeled to actuate fin of missile connected from the motor shaft to the fins. Further to reduce output torque ripples a high gain dc to dc converter designed. The research work implemented and verified in two phases. newline
