Abstract: | It is necessary for a physical educator and coach to identify the crucial part of science newlinewhich is important for successful conduct of physical education and its programme. A newlinegood understanding of available scientific knowledge will not only result in good newlineteams and better programmes of activities but will also enable protection of the health newlineof the players. Sports is an institutionalized competitive activity that involves physical and mental exertion or the use of relatively complex skills by individual whose participation is motivated by a combination of the intrinsic satisfaction associated with the activity itself and newlineexternal rewards earned through participation. The essential component of sports is newlinecompetition, the striving to achieve a prescribed goal. The present investigation undertaken is an attempt to prepare physiological, physical anthropometrical and psychological profile of badminton players of Uttrakhand, because the knowledge available at present is completely inadequate to provide clear cut information regarding the profile of newlineUttrakhand badminton players on physiological, physical, anthropometrical and newlinepsychological variables. The subjects for this study were a total of sixty badminton players of newlineUttrakhand, aged under-19 years. The subjects had participated in badminton newlinecompetition regularly for a number of years in their respective tournaments. The newlineselected physiological variable considered for study was maximal inspiratory breath newlineholding, maximal expiratory pressure, cardiovascular- endurance Heart Rate(Resting). newlinePhysical variable were Speed, Flexibility, Agility and Arm strength. Anthropometrical newlineVariable were Standing Height, Upper Leg Length, Upper Arm Length, Arm newlineCircumference, Biacromial Breadth, Upper Leg circumference and Elbow Breadth newlineand Psychological variables were Anxiety and Motivation. The obtained data from the subjects were statistically analysed by using descriptive like mean, Standard Deviation, skewness and kurtosis were calculated for descriptive analysis. newline |
