Abstract: | newline The Prostate is the male reproductive accessory gland (Richardo., 2018). The prime function of the prostate gland is storage of seminal fluid. In the process of prostate carcinogenesis normal cells are altered into cancer cells by uncontrolled cell division in the Prostate gland (Verze et al., 2016). In Indian subcontinent prostate is the second leading site of cancer in major cities such as Delhi, Pune, kolkata and Thiruvananthapuram. However, in Bangalore and Mumbai it is the third leading site of cancer and is among the top ten leading sites of cancers in the rest of the Indian population according to Indian population-based cancer registries (PBCRs) (Jain et al., 2014). The incidence rates of Prostate cancer are rapidly increasing in India. The PBRCs data shows that the number of cases will double by 2020 (Jain et al., 2014). |
