Abstract: The optoelectronic method of assessing cardiovascular pulse wave called Photoplethysmography (PPG) is clinically used for the analysis of many physiological conditions such as heart rate, cardiac abnormal rhythms, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, etc. A noninvasive assessment of these physiological conditions is obtained by the optical properties of tissue. Many types of research were carried out in this PPG based technique in recent years due to its low cost, simple hardware implementation, and easy portability. The cardiovascular abnormalities and their association with age are prime with this technique as it measures the volume pulse from the sensor location for each cardiac cycle. This thesis focuses on an experimental study of PPG signals with aging and cardiac abnormalities newline
