Corruption is always a hot topic for any nation because it has huge impact on the life of the citizens and India being no exception has a brief history of corruption and anti-corruption movement. Corruption can be noticed in the field of politics at very high level because it is the only field where high concentration of power prevails. There are various reason for the encouragement of corruption which include lack of knowledge and education, high concentration of power in a particular field, deliberate moves made by rich aristocrats are bureaucrats, lenient and ignorant behaviour of the businessmen to ease the process of trade and commerce and weakness of the middle and lower class to fight with it. The advantage of all these weaknesses are sufficient enough to ignite the flame of corruption but the ultimate sufferer is the whole society. Anil Menon in his novel Half of What ISay, beautifully presented a fictional depiction of the current scenario of the society. The characters of the novel belong from different field of the society and how they are woven with the spread of corruption is impeccably depicted in the story. The research paper is an effort to understand the areas of corruption and how it has an impact over the entire society. newlineKey words: Corruption, Anti-Corruption, Fictional depiction, Bureaucrat. newline newline
