Abstract: Owing to the availability of raw materials such as sand, aggregate, cement, limestone and water, concrete is usually preferred in construction activities. However, due to environmental considerations, the supply of concrete ingredients has been limited. This decline in the supply of concrete materials may result in the search for alternate sources of concrete materials being made available. The increased use of river sand will contribute to the following environmental problems, such as the unnecessary excavation of R-sand from riverbeds, leading to a decrease in the water table level in that region. Excessive riverbed mining can contribute to the deterioration of bridge piers that fail on applying load. M-sand is, however, used as an additional material and as a replacement for natural R-sand newline
