Abstract: | The wireless channel is an impediment to the growing demands of the satisfactory performance of the present and future wireless communication applications, namely voice calling IoT etc. The key requirement for improved and optimized system performance is the perfect estimation of the wireless channel between the Tx and Rx. Therefore the analysis of such wireless channel has become a popular research topic amongst the research community. It is well known to nullify the impact of the channel on the received signal, various signal processing techniques has been evolved such as diversity equalization channel coding etc. Another important concern of the wireless channel is the maximum utilization of the available spectrum. The current wireless technology offers high data rates at the expense of bandwidth. Spectrum limitation leads to the efficient utilization of the spectrum to meet this requirement. Therefore CR is an adroit technology to tackle the issue of spectrum scarcity. The CR dynamically nuzzles and unearth the operative environmental changes hunt the void spectrum of the incumbent and assigning it to the SU without introducing any interference to PU. The performance of the CR based on the energy detection principle depends on the accurate characterization of the realistic channel between the PU and SU. To resolve these issues to a great extent, the center of attraction of the thesis is the accurate characterization of the fading channel between the nodes. Further the work also investigates the effect of various diversity combining schemes to mitigate the impact of fading and cooperative spectrum sensing. newlineThe correctness of the derived analytical expressions of different performance parameters of the digital communication system is corroborated via MonteCarlo simulations and the exact numerical results. newline newline |
