Abstract: | This study adopted the positive leadership framework of positivity to understand the influence of certain behavioural outcomes at workplace. The conceptual model framework is built on positive psychology and related theories. Although research indicates that positive leadership results in increased flourishing and work engagement due to empowerment and trust in workplace. Previous literature has insufficient empirical evidence integrating positive leadership and its dimensions (strength, perspective and recognition) with trust in workplace, psychological empowerment, work engagement and flourishing. Following this proposition, the study investigates positive leadership influence on flourishing and work engagement among employees in information technology organisations . newlineA descriptive sequential mixed method was adopted resulting thereby in qualitative and quantitative analysis to test the conceptual model. A stratified selection method was used to identify the top 25 IT organizations, further stratified into Indian MNC s and Foreign MNC s. Judgemental method was used to choose the software professionals by including three inclusion criteria for responding to the survey. Five reliable, valid and standardized scales were adopted and administered in three stages between August 2018 and September 2019, to software professionals. The significant outcome of the study indicated that the relationship established among positive leadership, on work engagement and flourishing encourages the thought-action repertoire line that influences ones positive actions. Positive leadership, flourishing and work engagement are inter-twined i.e., enhancement of strengths recognition and leader s positive perspectives create progressive organisational culture towards better work engagement and flourishing. In conclusion, positive workplace is the foundation for true organisational success and it begins with positive leadership. newline |
