Abstract: Most service organizations have a multi-generational workforce and it is observed that managing them poses a great challenge. Organizations need to adopt employee friendly practices in their talent management, which should be customized to the differences in each Gen. These interventions must lead to a better employee engagement initiative so that an organization is successful and productive. The study looked at the role of employee engagement practices and work ethics parameters to engage multi-generational workforce in Information Technology (IT) organizations in Indian context. Considering the few of the top IT companies of India (In terms of their revenue and employees strength), in this study, ten IT companies were selected and approached for the survey to be conducted. The HR managers and employees were approached and survey was administered online. Employees were selected on a random basis to identify various challenges, differences, training interventions required and management views on the same. The study also includes expert views (from senior IT Industry professionals) through interviews and focus group discussions .Also secondary data on the employees characteristics, challenges and recommended training and talent management strategies (research papers) were studied. This study gives a perspective and the right orientation of the employee engagement strategies for multi-generational workforce. The study also looked at various strategies adopted by the IT companies and presents a critical review of the human capital management of multi-generational workforce. This research helps in giving a wider view of managing employee engagement and work ethics for multi-generational workforce in the light of rapidly evolving workforce solutions and their impact on innovation and company performance for India Information Technology industry. newline
