dc.description.abstract | In today s scenario, Quality products and services are only key to a successful SME s, to maintain quality standards in the services and products, it becomes very essential to optimize the processes working behind development of the product and services. In our Research work, we have made an attempt to initially understand the current processes being adopted by SME s in the city of Bengaluru. The questionnaire was a well-structured questionnaire addressing the key areas of Software development life cycle. The questionnaire was validated by Industry experts and the pilot study results were subjected to reliability test using IBM SPSS Tool, Further Non-Parametric tests were conducted to understand the relationships between variables of the study. Hypothesis testing has been carried out using ANOVA test and results have been concluded. In the second phase we have carried out failure mode effective analysis to practically understand the processes in SME s. Case study has been carried out in Embitel technologies Bengaluru, potential failure modes have been understood using brainstorming sessions, and potential effects of failure were predicted by QC Heads of the department. The severity, occurrence and detection rankings were assigned in the consultations with QC Heads and developers referring to past project experience. Further suggestions were given and model was prepared referring to results of factor analysis. Once model was implemented, defect mapping results before and after were compared to validate the model, there has been improvement observed in the occurrence of defects and model has been suggested to another SME. newline | |
