dc.description.abstract | Energy and environmental crisis is a major concern due to rapid increase in global energy consumption and fast depleting fossil fuels. This crisis is actually promoting the solar thermal energy conversion technologies, where concentrated solar power has gained increased attention. Parabolic dish type concentrators are employable in providing medium and high temperatures for various thermal applications like cooking, water heating, thermal power etc. Recently, Scheffler -type parabolic dish concentrators are being deployed to produce hot water and steam for various domestic and industrial use.
