Abstract: In this research work an attempt has been made to enhance the performance of the existing natural forced and wind assisted circulation type Domestic Solar Hot Water System DSHWS with CO2 gas filled in the collector panel of the DSHWS Whenever the wind was available the windmill operated and drove the pump which in turn enhanced the collector side flow rate Thus the system efficiency enhanced and CO2 gas filled in the collector panel also enhanced A comparison with a similar size forced circulation system with CO2 gas filled in the collector panel had provided a better idea Thus a 200 kg day DSHWS was tested in Natural Circulation System NCS Forced Circulation System FCS and Windmill Assisted Circulation System WACS modes experimentally with and without filling CO2 gas in the collector panel newlineThe performances were measured and compared Experiments were conducted during May August and November 2011 at Perundurai Erode district Tamilnadu India In each mode the measurements were taken on two consecutive days with two identical systems of which one of the collector panels was filled with CO2 gas at 1 atmospheric pressure after proper sealing of collector panel The gas was filled every day before the start of the experiment In all 36 experiments were conducted on clear and sunny days newline newline newline
