dc.description.abstractMetabolic syndrome (MetS) is a constellation of interconnected newlinephysiological, biochemical, clinical and metabolic factors that directly increases newlinethe risk of cardiovascular diseases, type 2 diabetes mellitus and all leads to newlinemortality. Insulin resistance, visceral adiposity, atherogenic dyslipidemia, newlineendothelial dysfunction, elevated blood pressure are the several factors which newlineconstitute the syndrome. newlineIt is generally agreed that the first-line clinical intervention for the newlinemetabolic syndrome is lifestyle changes, but this is insufficient to normalize the newlinerisk factors in many patients, and so residual risk could be high enough to justify newlinedrug therapy newline
