Abstract: | A MANET (Mobile Ad hoc Network) is a radio frequency based infrastructure less newlinenetwork where mobile nodes self-configure and self-organize themselves seamlessly newlineto furnish the data transmission requests, whenever needed remotely. . In this research an extensive survey is done on MANETs and analyzed its projecting challenges to assure quality of service during routing and media access control techniques. It is being observed while studying the MANETs routing protocols that they are based on best effort policy and needs to analyze the neighboring nodes carefully before attempting to explore the routes for applications. Ad hoc On Demand Distance Vector Routing (AODV) is a very popular, newlinesource initiated, multicast supported, sequence number based reactive routing newlineprotocol which floods the control packets to reach remote destination node of the newlinenetwork. This is a sender initiated based research model wherein reliable nodes across newlinethe multicast groups are selected in the direction of destination node and data newlinedisseminates only through these selected trustworthy nodes only. This way control newlinepackets are disseminated through limited reliable neighboring nodes and hence newlinepropagates less no. control packets for route discovery/route maintenance/data newlinetransfer phases. Simulated results indicates that proposed model on AODV, successfully able newlineto constrain the control packets overhead at each hop and hence reduce the energy newlineconsumption index per link and per route. Also the packet delivery ratio of proposed newlinemodel emerged as of high order when compared with AODV. After successful newlinesimulation of achieving QoS parameters as high index of local adjustment, reduced newlinecontrol packet overhead and energy consumption, and increased packet delivery ratio newlineit can further be tested on other QoS parameters like Jitter, End to Delay, End to End newlineReliability, Throughput, and Security etc. newline newline |
