Abstract: contains three sections. Section 3.1 deals with the hydrothermally synthesized ZnO nanoparticles at different pH level of the precursor solution. The zinc chloride and ammonium hydroxide were used as precursor solution and the pH of the solution was varied to 7, 9, 11 and 13 by the addition of ammonium hydroxide in separate experiments. Then the solution was heated at 150 °C for 3 h. The synthesized ZnO nanoparticles were heat treated at 400 °C for 3 h in independent experiments. Various pH values of the precursor solution influenced the optical property and the morphology of ZnO nanostructures. The various morphological structures observed are hexagonal disk, nanoflowers, spindle like nanorods and porous nanorods. The photodegradation efficiency of ZnO nanoparticles (pH 9) tested against Rhodamine B (RhB) dye is 94% and showed good stability for five cycles newline
