Innovative processes to transform plant biomass into renewable chemicals are needed to replace fossil fuels and limit climate change. Most research based on the production of biofuels focuses on the use of lignocellulosic biomass such as agricultural wastes. This is an advanced biofuel production where agricultural wastes replace food crops as biomass. However, due to the recalcitrant nature of lignin, it makes it difficult to hydrolyze it by the organisms. Pre-treatment methods are adopted to use these as substrates for fermenting it into bioalcohols. A cascade of enzymes acts synergistically to efficiently hydrolyze components of the lignocellulosic biomass (lignin, cellulose, and hemicellulose) newline
