Abstract: Increased popularity and dependency on Smartphone have instigated attackers to newlineexploit Android vulnerabilities for monetary benefits. Ransomware are the most threatening newlinemalware among all stealth malware. Ransomware are special malware used to extort money in newlinereturn of access and data without user s consent. The exponential growth in mobile transactions newlinecould be a potential motivation for numerous ransomware attacks. Emerging trends such as newlineransomware-as-a-service, crypto-mining, IOT (Internet of Things) based devices, smart newlinedevices and cloud-based devices have too encourages the spread of ransomware. Practitioners newlineand researchers have framed out many solutions to analyze and detect such threats. Continuous newlineon-going research augmentation of the Android platform and malware has resulted in newlinehumongous literature. Cumulating cited literature for the identification of research trends and newlinechallenges in a systematic review could prove substantial for the research community. newline
