dc.description.abstract | Wired Networks or Cellular Networks are unsuccessful in compromised physical areas or environments such as battle fields, submarines, underground bunkers, flood, earthquake and fire. Wireless Networks is a thirsty area of research due to its easier deployment and worldwide usefulness. As per the current scenario or necessity worldwide, self-organizing and efficient wireless systems are required with quick adaptability to mobility, quick and trouble-free deployment, and reduced costs. Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks (MANETs) are user-friendly, self-governing dynamic systems of movable devices, allowing users to access a broad range of information, data and services, when they are mobile, irrespective of their geographical bias. MANETs offer several benefits like- low price, enhanced flexibility and better speed of data transmission, and have mesmerized momentous significance in recent years with fast continuous growth. newlineMany researchers have been working in the direction of improving the performance of routing protocols accompanied with protocol optimizations to overcome limitations and to achieve network efficiency. Yet, significant research has been done to enhance the performance of routing protocols. But, designing a suitable goal efficient routing strategy in order to overcome various issues pertaining to MANET and its successful implementation, fulfilling all its desired characteristics, incorporating features of an ideal routing protocol is still a thirst area of research. newlineIn this thesis, the work began with the analytical and simulation analysis of proactive protocols. Extensive simulations have been performed in different environments using NS-2 tool. Based on simulation results, the scope of improvement has been analyzed to overcome the limitations of proactive routing protocols. A Novel approach for an efficient shared MPR set selection based on proactive routing protocol is proposed. | |
