Abstract

The purpose of the present research is to study the impact of emotional maturity and teaching aptitude on job satisfaction of secondary school teachers with respect to the variables such as gender, age, professional qualifications, locality, teaching experience and academic stream. newline This study used survey method and utilized standardized tools to gather the required information from the respondents. The investigator employed random sampling technique for the selection of sample of 640 secondary school teachers from 120 schools belonging to Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh. newline For the purpose of testing hypothesis, the investigator made use of statistical techniques i.e. mean, standard deviation, critical ratio, coefficient of correlation, Fisher s Z-function, ANNOVA / F-Test, t-test and multiple R . newline The results revealed that nearly 14% of the sample of secondary-school-teachers has low emotional-maturity, 71% has moderate and the rest 15% of the sample has high emotional-maturity. While age, locality and teaching experience of secondary-school-teachers make significant difference, whereas gender, professional qualifications and academic stream of secondary-school-teachers don t make significant difference in their emotional-maturity. newlineNearly 10% of the sample of secondary-school-teachers has low teaching-aptitude, 79% has moderate and the rest 11% of the sample has high teaching-aptitude. Meanwhile, age of secondary-school-teachers makes a significant difference, where as gender, professional qualifications, locality, teaching experience and academic stream of secondary-school-teachers don t make significant difference in their teaching-aptitude. newlineNearly 12% of the sample of secondary-school-teachers has low job-satisfaction, 80% has moderate and the rest 8% of the sample has high job-satisfaction.
