Abstract: | Aim: To assess the impact of the Physical Education Card (PEC) program on motor newlineproficiency of primary school students. newlineMotor skills are paramount for a comfortable and rich life. Physical activities keep us newlinehealthy and energetic. To remain physically active, though, requires a certain level of newlinemotor skills. Fundamental motor skills are the basic motor skills that serve as the newlinefoundation for higher motor skills. It is important for a child to master these skills for newlinebecoming more skillful in sports as well as day-to-day activities. newlineFundamental motor skills are influenced by biological factors as well as environmental newlinefactors such as nutrition and experiences. It is therefore important to provide sufficient newlinetraining opportunities to children at the appropriate age level so that they can cultivate newlinethese important skills. Physical Education Card (PEC) by the Central Board of newlineSecondary Education is one such program for primary school children which involves newlineactivities that train children in balance, speed, agility, and similar fundamental motor newlineskills. The study aimed at investigating the differences in motor proficiency of boys and newlinegirls, difference with exposure to PEC program, and the gender-program interaction of newlinemotor skills of primary school children. |
