Abstract: | The purpose of the study is to analyze how the cultural practices of KP youth have modified or changed compared with that of the older generation and examine whether separation from their homeland is one of the primary causes of their cultural shift. To analyse the possibility of resettlement in Kashmir from the perspective of youth compared with older generation. The study has also analysed the demand of return and rehabilitation of KP in Kashmir. The reasons for the shift in cultural practices of KPs. The researcher presumes that separation from homeland is the primary cause of this shift but the study has also investigated other reasons for the same. The research Analyse the changes in cultural characteristics of the youth compared with that of the older generation as the researcher presumes that because of the separation from homeland, the youth have not been able to get acquainted with the roots of their culture. An attempt has been made to identify identify whether the level of understanding of culture as well as language in KP youth has declined because they have been absent from the valley for a very long time. Because of the hectic modern life, the youth do not follow customs that used to be followed by everyone in the valley. The younger generation is also not interacting in Kashmiri language because the host community does not speak Kashmiri. Thus, the youth lose touch with their language and are not able to converse fluently in Kashmiri. Examine whether the youth would want to return because most of them are already engaged in their jobs and education outside Kashmir. The question still persists as to how KPs will benefit after removal of Article 370. newline newline newline newline newline |
