Relationship between psychological wellness and attitude towards work and work performance in police personnel

Abstract

Police personnel have one of the most stressful jobs among the professions. In their line of duty, police personnel face more stress, which not only impact their psychological wellness, but also their work competence. The current study aims to find out the relationship between psychological wellness and attitudes towards work and work performance among the police personnel. The study consists of 450 police personnel, including 260 constables and 190 head constables. Non probability convenience sampling technique was used. A set of questionnaires were administered. Findings indicated that police personnel stress and burnout significantly differ with related to rank, age, education and years of experience, the police stress did not have impact on their work performance. Results also indicate that police personnel s burnout having significant correlation with work performance and work family conflict. newline
